On Sunday 5th August the finals for the 2007 AVL Women Series was played in Sydney, with the University Blues beating its arch-rival UTS/Sydney U for the Gold Medal. An awesome results for a team only in its second year of formation. In the four round series played in Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney the team played 16 matches, losing only two and finishing top of the ladder.
