3 Renegades Teams in Semi Finals

Three Renegades teams made it into the final 4 of their leagues. The Premier Women came in 4th place in the regular season. Supported by a large red support crowd they faced last year’s finalist Eastside in their semi final. Chrissie, Jess, Anna, Jasmin, Roxy, Tash, Kelly, and the rest of the team fought a hard game, but eventually lost in 3 sets.
The second Renegades team in the semi finals was our Reserves Men team. Tristan prepared the team well for the match against Heidelberg. Pat fired his team up and was part of a great setting team with Ben; Trent and Chris were blocking massively; Joey and Ljubisa were as usual reliable passers and hitters from all positions on the court; Leigh was hitting on the frontcourt and Pat picked up all the balls on the backcourt. Particularly the second set was a pleasure to watch; after losing a few points in a row to a great Heidelberg serve, the entire team fired up and dominated Heidelberg with massive hits and blocks to get back to 19 all. Unfortunately, our Reserves team eventually lost in 3 sets.
Our only team left is U17 blue team. They lost as well (in 3 sets against Falcons), but they have another chance to make finals next Saturday. Let’s keep supporting our players next Saturday at 8.30am out in Dandenong!
