The morning of the Mens Div 2 trip to Mildura was exactly how we all imagined it to be. Early wake up call, 5 hour train ride to Swan Hill and finally a 3 hour bus ride to our final destination. The Mens div 2 team arrived at what many of us have called "the middle of nowhere" hungry, dizzy and tired but it didn't stop the team from getting pumped. Preparing ourselves for a rematch against the Phantoms which all of us knew wouldn't be an easy task. Our team consisting of Scott the opposite/outside, Matt the persistent middle, Reece the agile opposite, passhitters Lukcy, Michael and Boza and Div 1 middle Leigh Fletcher with special guests Ben and Jason Hughes from the Honours team took to the court with one objective: to win.

Our team was new and not to mention odd due to the combination of players from different teams and newcomer Reece's first game in a while. The first set was not at all played well as many of us were adjusting to the new team. Second set played much better but the Phantoms still managed to win and the third set played with much better consistent and precision. Finally we were playing as a volleyball team, getting passes straight to the setter, outside balls spiked in the court so well it questioned the opposition's game play but unfortunately the Phantoms defeated us 26-24. It was a close call, losing with poor lack of judgement towards the end but it was one heck of a set.

Battered, bruised, with broken shoes and defeated, we decided that the only remedy was a night out on the town, resulting in some long lasting memories for all. The return trip to Melbourne was much the same, cramped bus and rickety train (courtesy of V-Line) but we arrived back in one piece after a memorable weekend.
