Last night Volleyball Victoria held the 2011 State League Presentation Night at Powerhouse Albert Park.  The evening was well run, the food was delicious, and all attendees were dressed in their finest. A huge congratulations is owed to a number of Renegades that were awarded for their outstanding talent during the 2011 VVL season:

Chrissie Mahon

Womens Premier Most Valuble Player

Umpires give 3, 2 & 1 Votes to best player on court after each game.  Chrissie was head of the count for the majority of the season, and was gauranteed to win after Round 12.  Chrissie was also named in the All Star 7 Team, which will play against Queensland in Melbourne 11-12 November.  The team will also travel to Sydney to play against a Sydney team.

Vancho Pokov

Womens Coach of the Year

Vancho won Coach of the Year alongside Toivo (an ex-Renegades coach, current coach of South Cross Cobras).  Vancho will be coaching the All Star 7 team.  Vancho was also voted Coach of the Year in 2010.

Jasmin Bieri

Womens All Star 7 Libero

Jas was voted the Best Libero and will be part of the All Star 7 Team.  Jas was voted best libero/receiver in 2010 as well.

Tom Swallow

Mens 2010 AVL Most Improved Player

Mens Rising Star

Tom took to the stage twice during the night.  The Rising Star award was given to the most talented U21 player.

Erich Schreiber

Mens All Star 7 Best Receiver

Erich was voted best receiver and will play in the All Star 7 Team.

Dean Penny

A special mention was given to Dean, who acheived 14 votes from 14 games.  He didn't poll in Round 2, but polled 2 votes in Round 3.  All other rounds he achieved a vote which is a fantastic consistant effort.  Dean announced his retirement from State League after 15 seasons playing in the honours team.  His presence on court & at training will be missed.

Great work everyone.
